We often make achieving our goals a complicated and scary process and it totally doesn’t need to be.
You know how sometimes life can get busy and we get caught up in routine, living each day as the last (and maybe even chasing some carrots at the same time)…but the thing is, we can literally DO ANYTHING WE WANT in this amazing life we’ve been given!
If you don’t take time to think about what you want AND put action behind getting there, life will just kinda remain on a repeat loop. Leaving you exactly where you already are.
That’s why it is sooooo important to set goals regularly. And the key to achieving them is really quite simple – here are the 6 steps to making those gorgeous dreams of your a reality m’dear:
How To Achieve Your Goals In 6 Steps
1 Know What You Want
You GOTTA know what you want in order to get what you want. It really is that simple! What is your desired outcome?
I realize that this may seem obvious, BUT sometimes we think we know what we want but how clear is it really? What are the exact details? How will you know when you have reached your goal?
Be specific so that the Universe can help create your result. So if you say you want “more money” and then you find a penny on the sidewalk, the Universe is like “TADAH – I gave you what you asked for!”
How much money do you want specifically? When do you want it by? Is your goal to reach a 10k month with your business? Choose a specific goal, set a specific deadline, know exactly what has to happen to reach your goals and BOOM, you now know exactly what you want!
2 Take Action
As a previous over-planner who used planning as a way to procrastinate, I can definitely tell you just how IMPORTANT this step is. HAHA!
Without action, your goal just remains a permanent daydream.
Soooo…if your goal is to reach a 10k month with your business in the next 12 months (whatever your specific goal from step one is), then what action has to happen in month 12 to achieve that? What about in month 11, 10, 9, 8 and so on?
Reverse engineer your goal. Start with the outcome you want and work your way backwards so you know EXACTLY what actions to take each month and week (and day) to achieve it. It may look like a big mountain you need to climb right now, but this daily action acts as one step up that mountain – and before you know it, you’ve reached the summit!!!
Bottom line = you GOTTA start taking steps! What action are you taking right now to get yourself one step closer to your desired outcome?!
3 Check In
How is your progress coming along? Take time to see what results you have gotten thus far? Is your action in step 2 getting you somewhere? Have you gotten closer to your desired outcome?
Please remember, there is no failure, only feedback and there are no mistakes, only lessons learned.
So if you aren’t getting where you want to be it DOES NOT mean it is time to give up or quit…it just means you need to pay attention to what is working and what isn’t working, make some adjustments, and try again.
Check in with yourself regularly to keep the momentum going strong – you’ll be amazed at the progress you make with consistent action!
4 Change Things Up
In step 3 you noticed what was working and what wasn’t, but what about any changes YOU need to make? What are the specific characteristics that future you has? What kind of person is the person that has your goal already? Are they more confident? Do they schedule their day a certain way? What is the first thing they do in the morning?
Change doesn’t just apply to HOW you are taking action is also applies to WHO you are being while taking action. So take some time to think about it, and adjust accordingly.
To be the badass business owner who is making the 10k+ income months, what does your day look like? Do you wake up at a certain time? Do you regularly exercise and focus on self-care? Do you complete tasks that you give yourself so that your subconscious mind knows you mean business?!
LITERALLY BE THE PERSON WHO HAS ACHIEVED THE GOAL ALREADY – all day, errrrr’ day!!! That is when you will start to see HUGE shifts happen!
5 Focus ONLY On What You Want
Sometimes we can get discouraged on our journey towards our goals. Negative thoughts fill our mind when we feel like we aren’t getting there quickly enough (I used to be the QUEEN of impatience LOL)!
The thing is, when we get in that negative place, our energy also becomes negative and we attract more of what we are BE-ing. It is important to act and feel as if you already have what you want. Stay in that super high vibration state in order to attract your goals to you.
Positivity attracts more positivity. Inspired momentum attracts more inspired momentum. Negativity and impatience attracts more negativity and impatience. Ya know what I mean?
Focus ONLY on what you want, and let those other thoughts just pass by. It’s okay to give them a quick “bu-bye”, but release them and move on with your goal-gettin’ focus!
6 Be Grateful
The thing about focusing on your goals is that sometimes we focus sooooo intensely that we forget about now. Today. This moment in time. Yes, it is going to be freakin’ AH-MAZING when we accomplish this goal of ours BUT it is soooooo important to appreciate the journey towards your goal too!
Look at how fabulous you are right now! You are figuring out what you want and you are making things happen! That is pretty awesome if you ask me! So take a sec to be grateful. Be grateful for where you are and the entire journey that led you to this moment.
Be grateful for all the lessons you learned to date, your past accomplishments and feedback. Even if you haven’t showed up exactly how you wanted to in the past, you are showing up today and BE-ing the YOU that you now want to be!
(And BTW I am soooooo freakin’ grateful for YOU!!!!!)
You really can do ANYTHING you want in this life m’dear. I hope you take the time to figure out what it is that you want, only then can you make it happen!
